Estimates after the first year-half of 2017
According to preliminary estimates in the first year-half of 2017 the Company achieved the following financial results: 1) Net profit on the sale of goods and services of PLN 90,636 thousand (in the first half of 2016: PLN 107,269 thousand); 2) EBITDA of PLN 54 thousand (in the first half of 2016: PLN 3,779 thousand); 3) Net loss of PLN 2,804 thousand (in the first half of 2016 the net loss amounted to PLN 381 thousand).
The lower by 15.5% revenue on sale in the first half of 2017 (based on comparable stores lower by 10.3%) was due, primarily to the decrease (on y/y basis) by over 25% of the stocks (mostly private labels) and the reduction of the trading area in connection with the expiry of rental agreements of two stores.
The year 2017 is a transformation period during which the Company will be changing the stocking-up pattern. In the new business model the INTERSPORT Polska network has already started the ordering process of high profit margin private labels directly at manufactures (omitting the agent). The first supplies on the new terms will be executed from the fall of 2017 and the effect of the implemented changes will manifest in full in spring 2018.
In the first half year of 2017 the costs on operations were lowered by 5.1%, i.e. by PLN 2,129 thousand on y/y basis.
Lower than previously sale in the first half of 2017 and the one-time expenses suffered by the Company due to the closure of shops had an effect on the incurred loss.
The Periodic Report for the first half of 2017 will be published on 30 August 2017 after its investigation by the chartered auditor.
