Logistic innovation on a European scale

The implementation of the first in Poland and the only one on such a scale in Central-Eastern Europe innovative logistic solution in the recently opened Distribution Center of INTERSPORT Polska S.A. in Cholerzyn was completed. The investment was co-financed with the European Union grant of PLN 9,337,933.37 which was paid out in three tranches. After the properly executed clearing of the investment, the final tranche of PLN 4,395,852.75 was transferred to the Company’s bank account on 24 November 2009.

Until recently the EPC/RFID system was not present in Poland. This has changed with the project of the Institute of Logistics and Storing, executed on behalf of INTERSPORT Polska S.A. The project included the introduction of an innovative RFID gate to the INTERSPORT Distribution Center and the implementation of the unique in Poland and Central-Western Europe computer system based on EPCglobal standards. The system is designed to identify and register the flows of return containers with goods between the Company’s central warehouse and the chain of stores spread all over Poland.
