Record-beating revenues in the Company`s history

In January 2010, the network of INTERSPORT Polska S.A. gained record-beating revenue on sales in the whole 22-year history of the Company. The turnover amounted to PLN 34,655 thousand, an increase of 8.7% in comparison with the analogous period in 2008.

Unusually cold weather as well as approaching winter school holidays had a significant impact on the increase of the Company’s revenue on sales as they were decisive for the clients’ interest in winter sports equipment and attire in INTERSPORT stores. The main sales volume included: warm underwear, winter attire, as well as ski and snowboard shoes and equipment. Highest sales increase was gained in the product groups of helmets, underwear, and goggles.

The January record-beating increase on sales is undoubtedly the effect of favourable weather conditions, good perception of winter collection by clients, and systematic work in the stores related to clear goods exposition and high level of client service. We did not expect we would be able to beat the last year’s result which we perceived as a very good achievement. Now we hope that a positive tendency of revenue increase will persist in the forthcoming months of 2010 – says Mr. Artur Mikołajko, President of the Management Board of Intersport Polska.
