Company history


  • 1988 – the establishment of SKI-SURF Ltd. and opening of a store of an area 60 m2 with yachting goods in Kraków at ul. Zyblikiewicza 12
  • 1989 – the name of the company changed into MAKS Service Company Ltd.
  • 1992 – the store relocated to a room of an area 450 m2 at ul. Zyblikiewicza in Kraków,
  • 1998 – opening of a specialist sports store of an area 1228 m2 in the Zakopianka Shopping Centre in Kraków,
  • 2001 – relocation of offices and the warehouse to larger facilities in Brzezie near Kraków, opening of stores in shopping centres in Bytom (462 m2), Sosnowiec (510 m2) and Kraków (955 m2),
  • 2003 – opening of stores in Wrocław (1282 m2) and Bielsko-Biała (916 m2),
  • 2004 – restructuring of the private limited liability company into a joint-stock (public limited) company; opening of the largest store (1546 m2) in the Arkadia Shopping Centre in Warsaw,
  • 2005 – strategic co-operation with the INTERSPORT Group established; opening of stores in Poznań (636 m2) and Katowice (1033 m2),
  • 2006 – relocation of offices to the building at ul. Conrada in Kraków; public offering of shares and consequently quotation on the Stock Exchange – acquisition of funds for capital expenditures; opening of stores in Łódź (900 m2), Gdańsk (452 m2), Kraków (869 m2 ), Warsaw (1077 m2 ),
  • 2007 – store opening: two in Warsaw (802 m2 and 1077 m2) , in Poznań (1130 m2) , two in Wrocław (1071 m2 and 1200 m2), Gdańsk (1200 m2); plans to open two additional stores by the end of the year (contracts are now being negotiated)
  • 2008 - opening of stores in Poznań (1062 m2) and Bydgoszcz (1035 m2)
  • 2009 - opening of stores in Opole (740 m2), Częstochowa (1165 m2) and Płock (665 m2)
  • 2010 - opening of store in Zakopane (727 m2 )
  • 2011 - opening of stores in Radom (758 m2 ), in Szczecin (993 m2), in Rzeszów (823 m2)
  • 2013 - opening of store in Kraków  (795 m2 )
  • 2014 - opening of stores in Lublin  (883 m2 ), in Kalisz (501 m2) and in Olsztyn (634 m2)
  • 2015 - opening of stores in Bydgoszcz  (758 m2)
