Notification was made to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland with the joint participation of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing from Poznań, on obtaining a patent for an invention being an RFID gateway, operating in the New Generation Logistics Centre in Cholerzyn near Kraków.

Opening of the New Generation Logistics Centre of INTERSPORT Polska S.A. in Cholerzyn near Kraków – Cholerzyn 382, 32-060 Liszki. The total cost of carrying out the project in accordance with the Agreement and later annexes is PLN 21,114,477.16. Additional financing to carry out the project was approved for the amount of PLN 9,337,933.37, 85 per cent of which being additional financing from the European Regional Development Fund’s resources and 15 per cent a special subsidy.

The second RFID/EPC conference, organised by the RFID Innovation Centre/GS1 Norway, was held in Oslo. The first EPC/RFID conference in 2008 attracted 180 participants from Norway as well as other EU countries. In 2009, fourteen institutions took part in the conference, including IBM, Microsoft, GS1 Smart Centre and also the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, which presented the implementation of the EPC/RFID system in INTERSPORT Polska S.A., being the first project of its kind in Poland and one of the first in Europe.

The final tranche of the subsidy has been received!
The final amount of the subsidy actually received by INTERSPORT Polska S.A. to additionally finance the “Implementation of Innovative EPC/RFID Technology in the New Generation Logistics Centre” project was the maximum level of PLN 9,337,933.37.

In a decision by the jury in the competition for the Polish Logistics Association’s Award 2010, the project entitled “Implementation of Innovative EPC/RFID Technology in the New Generation Logistics Centre of INTERSPORT Polska S.A.” qualified for the competition’s second stage.

The Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians (PZITB), the General Inspector of Building Control and the Ministry of Infrastructure awarded the Grade II Prize in the PZITB’s “Construction Project of the Year 2009” competition to the investor INTERSPORT Polska S.A. and the general contractor Przedsiębiorstwo Usługowo-Budowlane WAKO mgr inż. J. Wasilewski, mgr inż. Z. Kowalik Spółka Jawna in Kraków.
