Year 2012


Dear Sirs,

2012 was an exceptional year for our Company. Our sales revenue increased by 20%. Our core operations (no account being taken of additional sales connected with the European Football Championship) brought about a growth of 13%. In comparative shops revenue improved by 8% in relation to 2011. Our financial liquidity improved thanks to a higher turnover of goods.

In 2012, the INTERSPORT chain was named the “Official Sporting Goods Store for licensed UEFA EURO 2012™ Products” and had exclusive rights in Poland to sell sports articles in stadiums and official fan zones. The Company opened up 150 checkouts at 28 additional points of sale (outside of the stores). The project required involvement of approximately 500 people and the sale was performed from 8 June to 1 July 2012. Overall, in Poland INTERSPORT sold over 300,000 licensed UEFA EURO 2012™ products, including 120,000 jerseys and 45,000 balls. We feel happy about the efficient organisation of the undertaking,
a positive marketing image and the profits generated.


In 2012, we started the process of commercial space optimisation. One unprofitable store, in CH Plaza Kraków, was closed, while two other outlets were opened up on good financial terms, in Kielce and Gorzów Wielkopolski. We intend to continue the process in the current year.

Last year, our communication policy was reliable and transparent. INTERSPORT Polska S.A. was classed in the elite group of listed companies demonstrating the highest transparency in terms of disclosure of non-financial data as part of the “Analysis of data concerning environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance in Poland” project. Our Company became also laureate of the third stage of the “Golden Website” competition organised by the Polish Association of Listed Companies. In August 2012, the INTERSPORT stores received the “Service Quality Emblem” in the “Sport and tourist equipment” category, awarded by the Polish on-line community of 4,000,000 people, which confirms the highest standards in customer service.
 
2013 will be another year of intense work for our Company. We can see a lot of potential in the sale of year-round product groups. We wish to maintain our turnover at a similar level and focus on improvement of profitability of our stores. We are convinced that we are able to make use of our 25 years of experience in the sports industry to reach the goals set for 2013.
